.eu Pre Registration Service
Domain Directors is offering a free .eu pre-registration service for company's wishing to secure their .eu domain name as soon as it becomes available.
There will be 2 Sunrise periods, each lasting 2 months, prior to the full opening of the .eu registration scheduled for late 2005. The first will be for organizations wishing to register domain names which are related to their trademark, while the second will extend to cover registered company and personal names. In both cases, the trademark or name registrations will have to be held in one or more EU Member States. The fact that a given name is registered in more than one EU country will not give it any priority over the name that is registered in only one country. Priority will be purely on a first come / first serve basis, based on the time the actual registration is received at EURID.
Details of the required documentary proof are not yet determined, but will published by EURID well ahead of the start of the first Sunrise period. A period of 40 days is allowed to required documents once an application has been made.
During the Sunrise period, a database of applications will be maintained by EURID so that applicants can see details of the timing and priorities once a registration has been received.

Please note that because we expect that these new domains will be extraordinarily popular, and because in some cases the processes through which they will be registered have not been finalized, we cannot guarantee that you will actually be able to register a domain name for which you have submitted an application once registration in the new domain space commences.
There are no charges for Pre-Registration, you will be contacted prior to registration for payment details.
